J.T. Harwood Port of Dreams 1930
J.T. Harwood’s paintings evidence a broad range of painterly abilities. Training under George M. Ottinger and Danquart Weggeland, Harwood’s early paintings demonstrate mastery of Academic Realism. His early 20th-century work moves towards Tonalism and Impressionism. Later in his career, around 1930, a shift toward Pointillism appears. This shift is observable in “Port of Dreams,” an artist’s proof of a harbor scene.
